Carl Dunst

Carl Dunst, PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist at the Orelena Hawks Puckett Institute, Asheville and Morganton, North Carolina, USA. His research has been conducted using social systems and ecological frameworks and has focused on the influences of social and nonsocial environmental factors on child, parent-child, parent, and family development and functioning. This research has included but has not been limited to, early child contingency learning, parent-child interactions, social support, family-centered practices, family capacity-building practices, and early childhood intervention practitioner professional development. In addition to his applied research, he has been an early childhood intervention practitioner in home-based and center-based intervention programs, an early childhood intervention program director, and has held a number of faculty positions in psychology and early childhood-special education.
